Who wins what

Trying it first

Notta

120 free minutes a month. AiNote has no free tier at all.

Individuals and small teams

Notta

JPY 1,185 per person per month is dramatically cheaper at low headcount.

A whole department

AiNote

When meeting volume varies by person, buying a shared total wastes less.

Organisations with frequent reassignments

AiNote

Hours are not tied to named accounts, so moves do not mean reissuing licences.

Charging usage back to departments

AiNote

Hours are held per environment, which maps onto internal cost allocation.

Strengths and trade-offs

Notta

Strengths

  • A genuinely usable free tier for evaluation
  • Low per-person cost at small scale
  • Records from web, desktop and mobile, so in-person meetings work too
  • Unlimited transcription on the Business plan

Trade-offs

  • Cost scales linearly with headcount
  • Free plan caps a recording at three minutes
  • Allowances are fixed per account and cannot be shared

LINE WORKS AiNote

Strengths

  • Pooled hours match how meeting volume is actually distributed
  • Not tied to named accounts, so reassignment is free
  • Top-up hours from JPY 360
  • Inside an existing LINE WORKS contract and administration

Trade-offs

  • No free tier; the minimum is roughly JPY 237,600 a year
  • Only makes sense if you already use LINE WORKS
  • Starting small to evaluate is not possible

What it costs

From each vendor's public pricing page in November 2026. Notta figures are annual, tax-inclusive: JPY 14,220 (Premium) and JPY 30,096 (Business). AiNote's annual-contract monthly rate converts to about JPY 237,600 for twelve months. Note this compares one Notta seat against one AiNote environment — Notta multiplies with headcount.

Which one, for who you are

Freelancer or two-person team

Notta Premium

A few client meetings a week

Free to evaluate and inexpensive to keep. AiNote's minimum is two orders of magnitude higher.

Department of twenty

AiNote

Five people attend most of the recorded meetings

Buying twenty seats to serve five heavy users wastes money; a shared pool prices the reality.

Company already on LINE WORKS

AiNote

Wants one vendor, one contract, one admin console

It arrives inside an existing contract, which in most organisations settles it before features are discussed.

Questions we get

At what headcount does AiNote become cheaper?
On headline price, eight Notta Business seats (JPY 2,508 each) reach about JPY 20,000, matching AiNote's smallest plan. Because AiNote's hours can be shared, the crossover comes earlier where meeting volume is uneven. Decide from your actual distribution of meeting hours.
Does AiNote make sense for a small team?
Not on cost. Notta is cheaper and can be evaluated free. AiNote is chosen for organisational administration, cost allocation and fitting an existing LINE WORKS deployment.
Can Notta's free plan carry real work?
No — three minutes per recording does not cover one ordinary meeting. Treat it as a functional check.
What happens when the allowance runs out?
Notta stops until you upgrade. AiNote lets you buy additional hours from JPY 360. Where monthly meeting volume fluctuates, being able to top up is easier to operate.
