  • Copilot Studio does not match the breadth of the GPTs ecosystem

Editors' review

AI inside Microsoft 365 — the leading candidate for a corporate standard

Copilot for Microsoft 365 integrates AI directly into Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint, using M365 files, mail and calendar entries as working context.

At $30 per seat per month on an annual contract, the number is clearer to budget than ChatGPT Enterprise's quoted pricing. Entra ID integration, Microsoft Purview audit logs and data residency choices answer what IT departments ask for natively rather than through a workaround.

It tends to lag ChatGPT Enterprise on access to the newest OpenAI models, and Copilot Studio does not match the breadth of packaged assistants available through GPTs.

Verdict

The strongest candidate for a company-wide rollout where Microsoft 365 is already deployed. If general-purpose AI work matters too, running ChatGPT Enterprise alongside is the realistic answer.
