Editors' review
The English proofreader — with generative features folded in
Grammarly is the oldest name in English proofreading and still has the widest integration footprint: browser extension plus the applications people actually write in. Generative features have added drafting, tone adjustment and summarisation on top.
Premium is $12/mo and Business starts at $15 per seat, with a free tier. SOC 2 and ISO 27001 compliance make it straightforward to deploy at a company.
It does not handle Japanese generation or proofreading. The pattern that works is drafting with a general LLM and using Grammarly as the final check on English.
Verdict
The first choice for anyone writing English regularly for work. For Japanese, use DeepL Write or an equivalent separately.
