Editors' review
Full-stack development in the browser — prompt to running app
Bolt.new is StackBlitz's browser-based full-stack AI development environment. On WebContainer, a prompt becomes a generated, running web app, and deployment happens from the same tab. React, Next.js and Astro are all supported.
Pro at $20/mo is enough for serious use, with direct deployment to Vercel or Netlify. Going from prototype to a first release without leaving the browser is genuinely strong for teaching, mock-ups and early startup validation.
The sandbox is also the limit: native modules, unusual build steps and large repositories do not fit. Production work assumes a move to a local setup such as Vercel plus Cursor.
Verdict
Ideal for prototyping, teaching and less code-centric users. Plan for a migration when something becomes a real product.
