What it is good for
- Non-native English speakers polishing business writing
- Rephrasing a sentence that is almost right
- Summarising long English documents
- Light editing where a full writing tool is overkill
Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- Rewriting is the core strength rather than generation
- Pricing is low even at the top tier
- Free tier is enough for occasional use
Trade-offs
- English only — no use for Japanese output
- Narrow compared with general assistants
- The humanising feature is of questionable value
Editors' review
Rewriting, not writing
The useful case is having written a sentence yourself and wanting three alternatives. That is a different job from generating a draft, and tools built for generation do it worse.
For Japanese work it is irrelevant. Shodo covers that ground domestically.
Verdict
Cheap and good at one thing, for English only.
