- Research requiring measured vocal expression
Strengths and trade-offs
Strengths
- Evaluation is the product, which is rarer than building voice agents
- Interruption and accent handling are the failures real users hit
- Published benchmark allows external comparison
Trade-offs
- No published pricing
- Only relevant once you have a voice system to evaluate
- Emotional expression measurement raises its own ethical questions
Editors' review
Measuring the failures demos hide
Voice demos are recorded in quiet rooms with cooperative speakers. Real calls have interruptions, accents and background noise, and that is where systems fall apart.
Testing for those conditions before launch is the difference between discovering the problem in evaluation and discovering it from customers.
Verdict
Relevant if you are shipping voice at scale. Premature before that.
